About Band Protocol

BAND is a cryptocurrency that powers the Band Protocol, a decentralised oracle platform that aims to connect smart contracts with off-chain data sources. Its goal is to provide reliable and secure access to external data to support the development of decentralised applications (dApps). The Band Protocol enables developers to create custom-made decentralised oracles without having to rely on a centralised oracle provider. The project is based on the Cosmos SDK and uses delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) as its consensus mechanism. The BAND token is used for staking, transaction fees, and governance on the Band Protocol.
